Poppa Cool is a typeface I designed based on my grandpa’s handwriting (I call him Poppa). I LOVE his handwriting, so I digitised it and turned it into a typeface. Now he can use it on his computer.

As a fun extra, I added a little easter egg. If you type the § symbol, it turns into a doodle of “Pookie,” a character my grandpa used to draw for me and my sisters when we were kids. It’s a small detail, but one that makes the font feel even more personal.T
his project is part of my broader identity exploration, and while it might not make it into everything I design, it represents something important to me. My grandpa has always been a big part of my life, and it felt right to honour that in my work, and let’s be honest, he just has really cool handwriting.
